Re: WHO over 20 now...
I started posting under one of my original guises around 1998 when I started work in London. Spent most of the day on WHO arguing on the Friday fight threads. Surprised I was never pulled up for internet usage as I literally stayed on WHO from 9am to 5pm doing about 3 hours work in the whole day!

I hope to get an honorary mention on here when I die.

That night of the long knives when Ged lost his mind and banned everyone will always stay close to my heart.

Ps. Yes he does look like a lesbian.

Joined in 2000 sat in my little house on a hill in Zante overlooking Kefalonia on my ridiculously overpriced Samsung laptop.

17 years later the view out of the window has changed but my love for WHO will always remain....

When i returned to a previous employer circa 2000/2001, i was introduced to this site by a female who went by the name of Moll Cutpurse or something like that.

Was on ITBS stuff before here...LSDT was good value on there.

time sure flies...

Yeah, Moll seems to have disappeared

Alex V,
Do you ever regret giving up the site?
What about doing us a match report this Friday of old times sake?

I joined before 2000, really no idea what year, my number is 11796. I nearlly lost the site when it moved. I got an email about the site, but I binned it as spam thought it was rubbish and did not read it all. I then found the westhamonline.com was taken over by some sort of advert site and could not find what happened to the site. In the end I got on another site kumb or something and asked them if they knew waht happened to westhamonline and some kind person told me it was now a .net and I was able to get back on. I was quite sad at the time, I thought it had been closed down.

Been on here since about 2000(?), and don’t think there’s been a day since then that I haven’t checked in for a look.

Am prompted by this thread to say cheers for setting up and to the mods, contributors and posters etc for all the news and entertainment over the years.

Re: WHO over 20 now...
Dan M, I did say around 2000, which other similar WHU sites were there, seriously? Thought it was ITBS? I started posting on here and there around the same time but was banned from ITBS (if it was that site) so became a regular on here.
Seem to remember it being a year or two before the Palace play off final so may have been 2002/ 03?
I was in the Nightmare on Green St book under an old username, which was about this site, a post I had written after the final was used, that's how I am tracing back time.

Re: WHO over 20 now...
Is my go to news source for breaking news shit.

Can only date my start as being when Sven & Roeder managed England and WHU. Think I tried to change my name to Fabio Curbishley but couldn’t manage it which is good as I only picked Sven because it rhymed with Glenn

Re: WHO over 20 now...
ITBS is dying, evolving itself out of existance. For all that it's worth now it should simply form a WhatsApp chat group and do the same thing, among it few remaining regular contributors, more economically.

Pretty much copied Jonah Lomas didn't you really.

And been in my shadow ever since.

Re: WHO over 20 now...
I think I have always been here. Same name, never changed but often mistaken for others.

Not sure what my user number is, probably in the low numbers.

The setter uppers and the constant maintainers deserve a lot of thanks as this can be a very unique and warm place when it wants to be.

There was a horrible period of grown ups looking for fights that they never turn up to, or weird stalky blokes getting rather too excited when they found something out about a poster. I think that has quietened down a bit now.

Well done WHO and all who sail on her

I was lucky enough then to have no COGNITION of you in those days.
How I wish they could return

I probably presumed you were called Jonah as you resembled a WHALE. Not so?

Sometimes, but it may never have survived this long if I hadn't. Very thankful to those who have kept it going over 20 years. Hard enough in life to contribute anything of value (if this has any), so I'm delighted to have been associated with it. Seems to me it's probably quite rare that anything lasts so long (credit to Kumb also) - there honestly can't be all that many websites that have. Just looked up the BBC website's official launch in December 97 and we predate that!

Re: WHO over 20 now...
Been on this Board since the turn of the century. For me the golden period was when such as the black fonters were permitted to post. I don't think that the humour from that period has ever since been consistently matched.

I agree with what nicey says about blokes seeming to want to meet up and have punch ups etc and others being stalky about people who did not march to the majorities specified view.

Nicey is not blameless though in how things have evolved on this Board because his ceaseless campaign against BFS always predicated the idea that if you did not take every opportunity to slag the bloke off you were somehow a strong supporter of him. That attitude seems still to prevail with regards to our current owners.
